Shot In The Arm:FDNY L.111, Rescue 2 Ride-Along ’92

¾ boots, bunker pants, helmet tetrahedrons and white-over-red cabs

Every now and then it’s good to look back, look at what inspired you, and do so without a critical eye but one that rekindles the spirit of service, adventure and – honestly – fun. All too often we can’t swing a dead cat without seeing some video or photo being dragged through the mud over what was done wrong, what should have been done right and so on. There’s nothing wrong with honest constructive criticism, especially among people who are up front (not anonymous) and open to both teach and learn.

Some days, though, it’s nice to just watch, be a buff and not a student or a teacher.

Here are some old (are the 90’s old? Good grief) FDNY videos from Benjamin Beytekin, riding along with Ladder Company 111 in Brooklyn.

Enjoy
