County chief continues to show rank is no excuse for not being physically fit.
On Friday, 12 August, Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department Chief Marc Bashoor, County Executive Rushern Baker and the members of the PGFEMS Training Academy, along with Career Recruit School No.43 and 44, all participated in a five-mile run across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The run started near the National Harbor area of Prince George’s County and took participants across the Potomac towards Alexandria (home of the Andy Fredericks Training Days) and then back across the Potomac. Chief Bashoor and Executive Baker ran along with the latest recruit class, training academy staff and other officers. This was the department’s second annual run and you can see more coverage here, “PGFD 2nd Memorial Bridge Run Joined by County Executive and Fire Chief”, courtesy of PGFEMS PIO Mark Brady.
