Worcester Working:4 Alarms in Three-Deckers

Four alarms struck as fire spreads among triple-deckers.

It began with fire showing from the rear of 5 Forbes Street. Add in a combustible rear porch and strong winds and Worcester firefighters had their hands full with one structure going well and extension creeping into two others.

Worcester firefighters contained the four-alarm fire in the city’s Green Hill Park section, but not before one dwelling was condemned, two others damaged and a dozen residents displaced.

Great article Dave. I agree with your comment that "they became traditions because they work." And yes if you change the focus from life safety to your own safety how about holding a town meeting and letting those you swore to protect know whats going on, I am sure they will see your point!
