Wednesday night and Thursday morning were busy in Brooklyn, most notably Thursday when firefighters were injured. Five members of Engine Co. 210 were injured at Box 4242, 192 Concord Street. The box alarm came with reports of people trapped (check audio) on the top floor and was quickly followed by Engine Co. 207 giving the 10-75.

Heavy fire conditions on the first floor of the three-story dwelling delayed searches as companies worked to get a knockdown. Battalion 31 requested the second-alarm after receiving reports of extension into Exposure 4. Eventually companies were withdrawn as a The Pride Of Hooper Street (TL.119) was being set up. Inside, a banister gave way and members of Engine Co. 210 fell.
The string of workers started on Wednesday evening with Box 851 for a fire on Decatur Street in Bushwick. Three occupants were pulled from this fire, one unfortunately died. Squad Co. 252 was on Box 851 as the second due engine company.
This was followed by the fire on Concord Street. Squad Co.1 and Rescue Co.2 took in this box on the second alarm. Squad Co. 252 and Rescue 2 made it to Box 2296, but were put in service after Battalion 41 held the fire with the ‘all hands’ companies. They eventually made it in to Box 1818 as well. Through out the mid morning and afternoon the assignments were altered due to relocations and companies going in service from the second alarm.
